Public water supply Company (PDAM) has come to Tanjung Mas village since 1980. it have given water services 50% out of total Tanjung Mas inhabitants. Tanjung Mas village consist of 16 parts of villages (in Indonesia called RW). Before public water supply come, almost all inhabitants use wells in their house. After it comes they use PDAM’s services for more simple things. Just 11 parts of this village that get water services from PDAM. And inhabitants that can buy water cost take that water.

In kebonharjo area, although have public water supply but some water supply business born. I give one of household, named H. Bajuri. He have use PDAM’s services since 1995, but he also buy bottled-water called AQUA, twice a week. He told bottled-water just used for drink. He choose to consume it because to get more hygiene water for health. He often sees changes of water quality on PDAM. In the rainy season, the water distribution is easier to get water. But in this season, water becomes muddy, have a different color. It is getting dark. And in dray one, the water flow so difficult and dirty full of mud. So he becomes doubt for water quality to family health.

As the result of water survey in Kelurahan Tanjung Mas, most inhabitants there said that they can’t depend on water from PDAM because it often gives minimal volume of water. Such as information from one of mass media in Semarang, there were leaks 225 mm on PDAM’s pipes at Jl. Majapahit that caused inhabitants around there cannot get water for daily needs (suaramerdeka, Dec 30 2005).
