PENGARUH MULTIPARAMETER KUALITAS AIR

Abstract

One of the efforts of water quality management in watershed is water quality monitoring. In general, water quality parameters such as physical, chemical and biological parameters are often used for water quality monitoring. However, because of some constrains, those parameters cannot be monitored continuously. The research to determine the correlation between water quality multiparameters and the indicator parameters such as dissolved oxygen and electric conductivity are rather rare mainly in Indonesia. Therefore, the objective of this research is to make the empirical models between water quality multiparameters and indicator parameters mainly dissolved oxygen and electric conductivity. This research uses the monthly water quality record data during 1990 to 2002, which had been measured by Research Institute for Water Resources. The water sampling is located at Nanjung Station as inlet of Saguling Reservoir. The research uses multivariate analysis method to analyze the correlation between water quality multiparameters upon indicator parameters. These analysis use dissolved oxygen (DO) and electric conductivity (EC) as predictors (dependent variables). The results show that the correlation coefficients between the multiparameters upon dissolved oxygen and electric conductivity are 0.74 and 0.984 respectively. Resciprocal test shows that ratio between the multivariate equation and dissolved-oxygen monitored data is 1.03 and regression coefficient (r2) =0.78. Whereas, the ratio between multivariate equation and electric-conductivity monitored data is 1.11 and the regression coefficient is 0.96. From these equations, background levels of dissolved oxygen and electric conductivity at Nanjung station are ±4,255 mg/L and ±63,215 μmho/cm.
